This article merely covers information about the vape battery of our rechargeable e-cigarette Vuse Pro One, not our disposable e-cigarette Vuse GO 1000, which you can only use once.

Buy the right vape battery

When buying a vape, do you value the longest possible vape battery life for your e-cigarette? Then you should choose the right e-cigarette battery. Most e-cigarette battery carriers are rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and are particularly well suited for vapes that need recharging! Lithium-ion batteries are true marvels of technology! Despite their low weight, they have an impressively high battery capacity and an exceptionally long service life. As a vaper, you also benefit from this. The significantly higher performance allows you to produce more intense clouds of vapour than with disposable vapes

If you are looking for an e-cigarette battery or other replacement parts for your vape, be sure to pay attention to quality and high value! Make sure that the retailer only offers certified devices. Look for electronics with ISO or CE certification. This guarantees that the e-cigarette battery holder will not overheat. When purchasing a vape battery, you should look for overvoltage protection and a time-controlled shut-off. Every Vuse battery used in our e-cigarettes is ISO and CE certified and equipped with overvoltage protection. So you don't have to worry about the quality and safety of your Vuse vape battery.

What does mAh mean on a vape battery?

The abbreviation mAh stands for milliampere hour. This is a unit of measurement for electrical charge. It indicates how much power the vape battery can store. The higher the mAh number, the more charge the e-cigarette battery can store and the longer it will last. How long the vape battery lasts depends on the e-cigarette.

Extend the life of your e-cigarette battery with these 7 tips

How should you charge your vape to preserve the e-cigarette battery? One thing is particularly important: proper handling and care. With these 7 simple tips, you can extend the life of your e-cigarette battery:

Tip 1: store your e-cigarette battery correctly

You should store both your e-liquids and your e-cigarette correctly. Keep your vape, pods and all accessories dry. Moisture can damage the electronics of your e-cigarette. Store your e-cigarette battery at room temperature. Keep your device between 15 and 25 °C. Important: do not expose your e-cigarette and vape battery to direct sunlight

Tip 2: never charge your vape overnight

Only charge your e-cigarette when you are in the same room. Even though today's vape battery carriers are equipped with numerous safety features, prolonged unattended vape battery charging can lead to short circuits or overheating. Therefore, you should never charge your vape at night! Also, make sure you only charge your e-cigarette battery for the recommended amount of time.

Tip 3: do not completely discharge the e-cigarette battery

Always keep an eye on your remaining battery level. Make sure you don't completely discharge your e-cigarette, as this will reduce the e-cigarette battery life. Similarly, you should not leave your device at a low charge for too long or completely discharge it too often. If you do not intend to use your vape for a while, charge it to at least 50 % battery power beforehand. It is best to recharge the vape battery when it reaches 15 % charge to protect your device.

Tip 4: remove the vape battery from the device when not in use

Always store the e-cigarette battery separately from the vaporiser. This will slow down the discharge of the vape battery. Clean and dry all contact surfaces on the vaporiser and battery before reusing your e-cigarette after charging. In some closed-system e-cigarettes, the vaporiser is built directly into the pod. If you are not going to be vaping with such a device for a long time, you should remove the pod from the e-cigarette battery holder

Tip 5: never fully charge your vape

How long you should charge your e-cigarette depends on the battery capacity in mAh and the e-cigarette charger you are using. Be sure to never fully charge your vape! Doing so will unnecessarily reduce your e-cigarette battery life. Ideally, stop charging your vape when the battery level reaches 80 % and disconnect the device from the charging cable. The Vuse Pro One charges up to 80 % in 50 minutes

Tip 6: charge your e-cigarette before vaping for the first time

When you unpack your new vape, the battery is often already pre-charged to around 20 %. This means you can start vaping straight away. However, it is advisable to fully charge your e-cigarette before using it for the first time. This will ensure you get the most out of your device. The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom of the device. Depending on which vape battery charger you have, you can also charge your device on the go using a portable e-cigarette battery carrier or a car adapter.

Tip 7: pay attention to the display when your vape is flashing

Vuse e-cigarettes are designed to let you know when it's time to recharge the vape battery. This information is provided by the battery indicator via an LED. This lights up throughout the charging process. The LED goes out as soon as your device is fully charged. Almost all rechargeable e-cigarettes from Vuse use the same colour coding for this purpose. You can find a detailed description in the Vuse Pro One user manual. For this model, the colour coding is as follows:

  • Constant white LED: over 80 % charged
  • White LED pulsing: Vuse battery between 50 % and 80 % charged
  • Red LED pulsing: vape battery low (less than 50 %), you should charge your vape soon
  • Red LED pulsing 10 times: e-cigarette battery empty

Important: Do not remove the e-cigarette battery until it is completely empty! It may happen that the vape battery is empty before you have used up your pod. In this case, first check whether the pod is really empty before disposing of it.

Perhaps your e-cigarette battery holder does not have a battery status indicator. You will notice that the vape battery is running low when the vapour becomes less intense

Another little tip: when should you charge your vape? We recommend that you fully charge your Vuse e-cigarette from time to time. Please be careful not to overcharge the device! Completely discharging your e-cigarette battery is just as harmful as permanently fully charging it. Our Vuse Pro One user guide will help you with any questions you may have about the Vuse Pro One

The e-cigarette battery is on strike: troubleshooting

In most cases, your e-cigarette will work perfectly. However, as with all electrical devices, something can go wrong with a vape. If your e-cigarette won’t turn on, won’t charge or discharges faster than normal, it may be due to the vape battery. The good news is that you can quickly and easily check your vape to find the cause of the problem. In most cases, you can fix the problem yourself. If you want your e-cigarette batteries to last as long as possible, go through the following points step by step to find the cause of the problem.

Check the charging port on your vape

Is your device not turning on, or are you unable to charge your vape after plugging in the USB-C charging cable? This is often due to the device’s charging port. You probably carry your device in your handbag, trouser pocket or jacket pocket when you’re out and about. Dust or lint can quickly dirty the charging port. Such dirt prevents ideal contact between the charger and the port. Here's what you can do about it:

  1. You can quickly locate such dirt with the torch on your smartphone.
  2. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt from the charging port of your vape.
  3. Sometimes gently blowing on the electronic contacts can also help to remove dust.

Important: Do not use cleaning agents to clean the contacts, as this may damage them!

Check the USB-C charging cable

Vuse e-cigarettes use a USB-C cable to charge your vape. This allows you to charge your vape quickly and efficiently. Is your device not charging despite having a clean charging port? This could indicate a problem with the USB-C charging cable. Check your USB-C charging cable for breaks or other damage. If you can’t find a problem at first glance, test the charging cable with another compatible device, e.g. with a different power supply or USB port. If this device also fails to charge, you can assume that your charging cable is probably broken. In this case, you should replace it immediately! We recommend that you always purchase your USB-C charging cable from the manufacturer of the e-cigarette you use.

Check the USB power source

Connect the USB-C charging cable to a USB port to charge your vape. Your television, laptop or tablet should have a suitable USB port. Nowadays, modern sockets or USB power supplies also have this type of charging port. If the charging port on your vape is clean and the charging cable also works with other devices, the USB power source could be the cause of the problem. In this case, check the power connection and plug for possible damage. Try charging your e-cigarette via the USB port of another device or at a different power socket. If you can charge your vape, you can be sure that the USB power source is responsible for the problem.

Important: You should no longer use defective power sockets and have them repaired by a specialist immediately!

Check the vape battery and contacts for damage

In extreme circumstances, the vape battery may have been damaged. If you want to know whether something is worn or damaged, check for the following typical signs. Is the e-cigarette battery accessible? Check whether it and the contact points show any damage, rust or corrosion. Carefully clean the affected areas with a dry cloth to make your device functional again. The vape battery may be too damaged or worn to be repaired. In this case, replace it immediately!

Water ingress or leaking liquid from the e-cigarette

Has your vape battery gotten wet from splashes or rainwater? This happens to even the best vapers and isn't always avoidable. It's also possible that your e-liquid tank or pod cartridge is broken or defective. If e-liquid gets into the vape battery, it can damage the e-cigarette battery.

Clean the area around the vape battery with a dry cloth, if possible, with your device. You can also try to remove dirt deposits by blowing gently. After drying the inside of your device, you should also take care of the outer parts of your device. This includes crevices, gaps and the areas around the buttons on the side of your vape. Dry these gently with a soft cloth as well. Then leave your e-cigarette to dry for a few hours. Do not use it again until the device is completely dry. If your vape still won’t turn on, you need a new one and should replace it immediately.

Charge your vape correctly – here's how

Vape battery carriers are no longer as sensitive as they used to be and can last for several hours. Nevertheless, it is essential to store and use them correctly. We recommend that you only use the original e-cigarette charger that came with your vape. If you follow our tips and tricks for charging and storing your vape battery, you can significantly extend the life of your e-cigarette battery.

If you do need to dispose of your e-cigarette battery, please do not throw it in the normal household waste! You can dispose of vape batteries of any size, voltage and from any manufacturer free of charge at municipal collection points. Details can be found on the website of your local authority or at www.swissrecycling.ch. Thanks to our recycling bags, you can send old pods and devices back to us free of charge – we will then ensure they are disposed of properly. Frequently asked questions about charging your vape

How can I charge my vape correctly?

To charge your vape, you usually only need a suitable e-cigarette charger or a USB cable that is compatible with your device. Connect your e-cigarette to a power source and make sure you don't leave it unattended while charging. It is best to charge your vape battery at room temperature and disconnect it from the power source as soon as the LED indicator shows that the battery is fully charged.

How long does it take to charge an e-cigarette?

The charging time depends on the mAh (milliampere hour) capacity of your vape battery. The higher the mAh value, the longer it takes to charge your vape and the longer the e-cigarette will last afterward. Small vapes are often fully charged after 30–60 minutes, while more powerful models or e-cigarette battery carriers can take up to 3 hours.

What does mAh mean for my vape battery?

The abbreviation mAh stands for milliampere hours and describes the capacity of your e-cigarette battery. For example, a battery with 1,500 mAh will last longer than one with 900 mAh. However, charging a vape battery with a higher capacity takes correspondingly longer.

What is the safest way to charge my e-cigarette battery?

Always use the original e-cigarette charger that is suitable for your model. Avoid cheap alternatives, chargers from other manufacturers or defective cables, as these can shorten the battery life or, in the worst case, damage your e-cigarette battery. Also, make sure to keep the vape battery holder and contacts clean on a regular basis.

My vape is flashing when charging the vape battery – is this normal?

If your vape is flashing, there can be various reasons for this. If it flashes during charging, this means that the battery is charging and is not yet 100 % charged on most e-cigarette models. However, if the LED on your device flashes continuously or unusually quickly, this may indicate a defective vape battery, contact problems or a short circuit. In this case, check the user manual for your model or contact the manufacturer.

Can I charge my vape overnight?

Better not! Even though modern e-cigarette chargers have protective mechanisms, constant charging when the battery is full can shorten the life of the vape battery. It is therefore better to charge your e-cigarette during the day and unplug it as soon as it is fully charged.

How can I extend the life of my vape battery?

  • Avoid deep discharge (never vape until the battery is completely empty).
  • Do not permanently charge the e-cigarette battery to 100 %.
  • Use an original, compatible vape battery charger.
  • Keep the e-cigarette battery clean and dry.
  • Store it at room temperature only.
  • Do not expose it to direct sunlight.

This will keep your vape battery powerful and safe for longer.
