In the last few years, e-cigarettes have progressively spread among smokers as an alternative to traditional cigarettes but they’re not all the same. In fact, there are so many options that you might feel confused and need some help to make the best choice.

One of the first things you need to know about vaping is that there are two kinds of e-cigarettes: open system and closed ones.

Let’s discover what it means!

OPEN SYSTEM E-CIGARETTES

The main difference between Open and Closed System devices is the way the e-liquid is delivered to the heating mechanism. Open system pens generally include the following components:

  • a box mod for the battery, designed to produce more vapour than the traditional electronic pen cigarettes. They are available with different levels of battery life, air flow, power and many other advanced features like data in order to get customized solutions to meet your needs.
  • A nebulizer, a small metal casing that contains una coil and wick that heats the e-liquid or the flavour, it requires the substitution after 2 or 4 weeks.
  • A glass tank, this is the container where you can put your e-liquids.
  • The e-liquid, this is your flavour and your nicotine source.

If you are looking for a high level of customization for your vaping experience, open systems are probably the right option but usually they have a higher price range.

CLOSED SYSTEM E-CIGARETTE

If you are new to vaping, closed systems are the most pragmatical option on the market as they are extremely easy to use and enable you to experience vaping without needing to be an expert of the category.  What makes them easy to use? They are usually made up of a pen in which you have to insert the pod with the e-liquid that you want to vape. This makes the option extremely versatile as well as you can start vaping a pod, remove it to change flavour and then reinsert the one you were vaping before if you want to go back to vape your original flavour.

Another important pros is that the e-liquid pods are sealed, so you can avoid liquid leaks and dispersion that might happen with open systems.

Because of their simplicity, e-cigarettes with closed systems are perfect to carry with you wherever you go. Moreover, this kind of devices are often less expensive, which is why they are typically referred to as the perfect choice for beginners.
