HOW MUCH NICOTINE DO YOU GET FROM VAPING?
LEARN ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF NICOTINE PRODUCED IN VAPING AND HOW IT COMPARES TO TRADITIONAL CIGARETTES. VUSE PROVIDES VALUABLE INSIGHTS AND INFORMATION, READ MORE.
Between all the flavours, types of vaping devices and of course the terminology it’s easy to get a bit lost, especially when you’ve just made the switch to Vuse.
An important thing for first-time vapers to understand is nicotine strengths and how much of it you get from vaping. Different people prefer different strengths, so you need to find the one that suits you.
WHY IS NICOTINE USED IN VAPES?
Vapes heat nicotine, which is extracted from tobacco, and flavorings to create an aerosol that you inhale. As most vapes contain nicotine, it can sometimes be used to replace cigarettes but with fewer of the harmful toxicants* found in traditional cigarettes.
HOW IS NICOTINE STRENGTH MEASURED?
The concentration of nicotine in an eLiquid is measured in milligrams of nicotine per millilitre of eLiquid. This is usually shown as ‘mg’, and it’s this number you’ll see on all our packaging. The higher the number, the greater the nicotine strength.
HOW much NICOTINE IS IN VAPES VS CIGARETTES?
The difference in nicotine levels between vapes and cigarettes comes down to your smoking habits, the strength of cigarettes and how many you smoke.
So, if you’re a heavy smoker who is switching to vaping, you may prefer a vaping option with a higher nicotine strength. If you a first-time nicotine user, you can start with a lower strength, or nicotine-free option, and then work up or down depending on which strength you end up preferring.

IS NICOTINE SAFE?
Nicotine has been used for decades in licensed medicinal products with few significant adverse effects and such products have been deemed safe enough for over-the-counter sale without a prescription in many countries.
However, nicotine is a highly addictive substance and may be hazardous to your health. Rapid oral ingestion or dermal absorption of nicotine in high amounts is acutely toxic and may be life-threatening, particularly for children.
