ABOUT OUR VUSE eLIQUID

When you switch to vaping, you will now be inhaling vapour, so it is vital to us that you know exactly what's in this vapour. To ensure the quality of ingredients and the resulting vapour, we put significant attention and research into every eLiquid and product we manufacture.

WHAT’S IN OUR eLIQUIDS?

Vuse eLiquids are made of high-quality, food-grade ingredients. Every ingredient we use undergoes a toxicological risk assessment. We assess all our flavours to confirm suitability for vaping before they get to you. We won’t release anything for public consumption if it doesn’t pass our tests.

One eLiquid can contain as many as five ingredients. Some contain water, flavourings and/or nicotine – and some contain none of these. However, all have a base made of Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG).

Learn more about each of these ingredients we use.

PROPYLENE GLYCOL (PG)

Propylene Glycol (PG) is one of two key ingredients in eLiquids. It’s colourless, clear, and nearly odourless. Because PG has little flavour of its own, it carries the flavouring in an eLiquid. Vuse only use pharmaceutical-grade propylene glycol in our products.

GLYCEROL (ALSO KNOWN AS VEGETABLE GLYCERINE OR VG)

VG is colourless and odourless but, unlike PG, it has a slightly sweet flavour. It’s more viscous than PG, which means it produces a much thicker vapour when heated, making higher-VG eLquids ideal for vapers.

NICOTINE

Nicotine is found naturally in plants, including tobacco. Through years of research, we’ve come to learn that it’s the burning of tobacco – not nicotine – that causes the majority of smoking-related illnesses. Products that contain nicotine but do not involve the burning of tobacco are likely to emit far fewer and lower levels of toxicants compared to conventional cigarettes.

*This product is not risk-free and contains nicotine, an addictive substance.

FLAVOURINGS

The food-grade flavourings we use are thermally stable when vaporised. Our flavourists carefully craft eLiquids by selecting the flavour quantity *based on toxicological guidance.

eLIQUID INGREDIENTS THAT WE NEVER USE

Some news reports have linked vaping products to lung injuries and, in some cases, even death. In the USA this has been labelled as EVALI (E-Cigarette or Vaping Product Use Associated Lung Injury).

However, according to public health authorities in the USA and UK, most patients impacted by these illnesses reported vaping tetrahydrocannabinol (also known as THC) oils containing Vitamin E acetate. THC is the active ingredient in cannabis that makes you high. Many of these products were also bought off the street', from informal traders or traded among friends.

As a responsible company, Vuse complies with all relevant legislation on ingredients and Vuse toxicologists continuously review publicly available literature on ingredients to understand suitability for inhalation. To put it simply, we do not add any of the following harmful ingredients to our vaping products:

  • Acetoin
  • Diacetyl
  • Methyl Eugneol
  • Oils containing THC or Vitamin E Acetate
  • 2,3-Pentadione

Note: These compounds are not added to our liquids. However, the compound may be present in the vapour emissions of the product, albeit at very low levels.

eLIQUID INGREDIENTS FAQ

WHERE ARE VUSE eLIQUIDS MADE?

Vuse e-liquids are manufactured in the USA

WHERE DO THE INGREDIENTS COME FROM AND WHERE ARE THEY PRODUCED?

Flavour ingredients are sourced in many different geographical locations. All Vuse ePod flavours ingredients are sourced through Global Flavour suppliers and are food-grade.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SYNTHETIC AND NATURAL FLAVOURS?

A natural flavour is isolated from a natural material (such as plants), through extraction and purification processes. A synthetic flavour is created through chemical reactions. In principle, there is very little difference between a natural and synthetic flavour. The difference between a synthetic flavour and a natural flavour extract is that a natural flavour extract contains many flavour components, whereas a synthetic flavour compound contains one flavour component.

WHY DO YOU USE SYNTHETIC FLAVOURS?

Synthetic flavours are used to provide a more consistent, specific flavour from batch to batch. However, the use of different sources of flavours depends on the requirement for a specific flavoured eLiquid, in terms of the flavour style or character.
