Myth: Vaping is as bad for me as smoking cigarettes
Answer: Vaping offers a potentially reduced risk alternative to smoking for people who are unable or unwilling to quit the use of nicotine. The reduced risk potential (when compared to combustible cigarettes) of e-cigarettes is largely due to the fact that they do not involve burning tobacco. Alternatives to cigarettes that involve no burning are likely to emit far fewer and lower levels of toxicants. Check out this independent report about vaping vs smoking.
An expert independent review published by Public Health England on e-cigarettes concludes that e-cigarettes are around 95% less harmful than smoked tobacco and they can help smokers to quit.
Myth: All vapes contain ingredients associated with EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping use associated lung injury)
Answer: Data from patient reports and product sample testing show tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) vaping products, particularly from informal sources like friends, family, or in-person or online dealers, are linked to most EVALI cases and have played a major role in the outbreak.
Vitamin E acetate has been strongly linked to the EVALI outbreak. Evidence is not sufficient to rule out the contribution of other chemicals of concern, including chemicals in either THC or non-THC products, in some of the reported EVALI cases.
It is important that you check the ingredients your vaping E-Liquids contain. THC and Vitamin E Acetate are not, and have never been, added to our Vuse products.
Myth: Batteries in vaping devices are not safe.
Answer: Most e-cigarette devices contain lithium ion batteries similar to any other consumer electronics. It is important that you check your vaping device meets all required battery safety standards.
Vuse products meet all international and national safety requirements and they are designed with safety in mind. To avoid any failure to your Vuse product or damage to other property, only use and charge your Vuse device with the equipment provided in your kit. The leaflet provided with Vuse devices will provide guidance on usage and charging requirements and environment.
Myth: Vaping gives you popcorn lung
Answer: One of the most commonly held concerns is that e-cigarettes might cause ‘popcorn lung’. This came about because some flavourings used in E-Liquids to provide a buttery flavour contain the chemical diacetyl, which at very high levels of exposure has been associated with the serious lung disease bronchiolitis obliterans.
The condition gained its popular name because it was initially observed among workers in a popcorn factory.
However, diacetyl is banned as an ingredient from e-cigarettes and E-Liquids in Belgium.
Myth: You can drink your E-Liquid
Answer: No, Vuse nor any other e-Liquids are not intended to be ingested. In the event of accidentally ingesting the E-Liquid, please consult a medical professional.
